Starfield Ballistic Vs Laser Weapon: Which Is Better?

For quite a while now, there’s been confusion about what’s the best weapon between Ballistic and Laser in Starfield. That’s a tough call to make as both of them can help you fend off creatures and pirates from Space. But somewhere, there should be a minor difference making any one of them better than another. And in this Starfield Ballistic vs Laser weapon guide, we have just figured that out.

Ballistic vs Laser Weapons in Starfield

For those who don’t know, Ballistic Weapons are like your normal and classic guns from other games. They shoot real ammo and if hit properly, they can do colossal damage to the victim. Aside from this, the Laser Weapons uses electricity-type lasers to shoot projectiles on the opponent. This category represents the futuristic take on weapons like in sci-fi movies. If you ask me to pick between Ballistic and Laser in Starfield, I would simply go for both, and I have a very good reason for that.

Both of these weapons are ideal to use in different situations and against different enemies. Ballistic Weapons will deal more damage to alive enemies like space pirates and creatures. On the other hand, a Laser Weapon can easily take down robotic enemies. Apart from damage, it is also important to focus on range and accuracy. Speaking of that, weapons like Coachman, Drum Beat, and Pacifier which fall under the Ballistic category are good to use in short and mid-range battles. Laser Weapons that use projectiles show great accuracy in dealing with enemies far away without compromising the damage. So you see, Ballistic is my pick for short/mid-range combat and Laser for long-range combat in Starfield.

However, it does not mean that you should not pick Ballistic for long-range and Laser for mid-range battles at all. They will work fine in such situations too but would not prove to be much effective. For some players, using both of these weapons in opposite situations won’t make much difference due to their Aim Sensitivity Settings.
