Starfield Traits Tier List – Best Traits Ranked

Confused about picking the best starting traits & their pros or cons? Check out our guide that explains the best Starfield Traits and what do they do.

Here’s a Starfield Traits tier list that ranks all Traits from best to worst. Picking the best traits in Starfield can certainly be the most crucial factor while creating your first character. Although choosing these starting traits is optional, you cannot choose them as you progress or through other means. They are like a double-edged sword, as every trait has benefits and disadvantages. While you get certain buffs or advantages, you also get certain limitations or debuff penalties depending on the trait. So, you can opt to choose none for balanced gameplay. But in that case, you might miss out on the buffs and regret not choosing them.

Our Recommendation of the Best Traits

all starfield traits what they do

For us, choosing the best traits in Starfield depends on the playstyle and gameplay you are looking for.

The Alien DNA is the best trait to pick since it offers increased health and oxygen.

Being an introvert, I also chose the Introvert trait as it uses less oxygen whenever I explore the planets alone. But you can choose Extrovert if you would love to explore the NPC interactions.

You can choose a Faction Allegiance trait based on your suitable preferences for better rewards. And you can choose any of the Religious traits for the chests within the New Atlantis (even though you might be an atheist).

Aside from that, you can choose the Hero Worshipped trait if you like Adoring Fan’s random cameo. The best part about listening to his constant talks is that you can also choose to kill him at any point.

However, you can also choose the Taskmaster trait since you will be venturing out in the space. An automatic full repair to your ship can come to your rescue when the odds are against you.

But it all comes down to your desired playstyle and character customization. So, we leave the rest of the decision to you.
